Ierapetra

Ierapetra is the most southern town in Crete and is easily reaches from heraklion airport. It has beome a popular destination for many holidaymaker's due to the fact its stays hotter here longer than anywhere else.

The town of Ierapetra is an important port town and has been for centuries. There is a large fortress which over looks the main port called Kales fortress. It was built by the Venetians but local myth has it that the pirate Pescatore built it in 1212.

There is plenty to do for the active holidaymaker in Ierapetra including hiking, walking and cycling through Lassithi, you can also go fishing on the Bramiana Dam. If thats not for you then Ierapetra's beaches have all been awarding blue flags for there quality.
